Support in 2018
The 100 Club of Richmond was created in support of First Responders in the Greater Richmond area and their families. Since its inception, we have awarded over $225,000 to this community.
We continue to support our First Responder community through sponsorship of educational events, funding of maintenance or preventative equipment and funding for officers and their families who are injured or killed in the line of duty.
In the past few years, The 100 Club of Richmond has supported the following:
FUNDED SUPPLY OF FIRST AID KITS
Equipped patrol cars in all jurisdictions with advanced First Aid kits to help keep officers prepared when they arrive on scene. These kits included sophisticated defibrillators so officers that arrive on the scene of a cardiovascular event may be equipped to start administering care.
SPONSORING THE VALOR AWARDS
The 100 Club of Richmond has been a proud sponsor of the Valor Awards in Richmond, an event that honors the First Responder community and recognizes officers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
In 2018, The 100 Club of Richmond is proud to return as a Premier sponsor in support of this event. Sponsorships not only support the event, but allow First Responders and their families to attend this event at no charge.
SUPPORTED SITUATIONAL AWARENESS TRAINING
Over the years, The 100 Club of Richmond has supported multiple training events for First Responders. Most recently, they supported a training seminar titled "Flawed Situational Awareness: The Stealth Killer of First Responders" taught by Dr. Richard Gasaway. This informative session allowed over 500 attendees from throughout Virginia to learn about the importance of situational awareness and tactics for keeping themselves safe on scene. Many attendees reached out to thank The 100 Club of Richmond - below are a few of their messages.
"I just wanted to email you and thank you [personally] for sponsoring this event. As I learned so much from Dr. Gasaway and it opened my eyes to what I haven't thought of before on the fire ground. It was a great experience all around. Thank you again for sponsoring such a great event." - Shawn Massey
"I'm a firefighter from Danville VA and was able to attend Dr. Gasaway's Situational Awareness Class in Henrico yesterday and wanted to thank your organization for funding the class. It was informative and eye opening and I plan to spread the knowledge and insight gained in the class in my department. The good work you are doing does not just benefit the greater Richmond area, but the entire commonwealth. Thank you!" - Joe Simpson
Finally, thank you to all members of The 100 Club of Richmond for your support, as these efforts are only possible through the funding you provide.
